Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work will consist of crushing approximately 25,000 to 35,000,000 tons (refer to Details #1, #2 and #3) of salvaged concrete and asphalt road materials. Detail #1 The City of Yankton requires a suitable and consistent crushed material for its road construction needs. Therefore, if for any reason, when approximately 4,000 tons have been crushed and the final product of this operation fails to be suitable, the City of Yankton reserves the right to discontinue the operation under the direction of the Public Works Manager. Final payment will be based on the bidder’s original unit price for the actual number of tons crushed. Detail #2 If however, when approximately 4,000 tons have been crushed and the final product is suitable and consistent as specifications set forth and required by the City of Yankton, the Contractor under the direction of the Public Works Manager will crush an additional 21,000 tons to 46,000 tons. Final payment will be based on the bidder’s original unit price for the actual number of tons crushed. Detail #3 Only one bid price will be allowed on this bid form. Contractor shall crush salvaged concrete and asphalt material to a maximum size of 1 1/8-inch. During the crushing operation, material removed from the stockpile of salvaged concrete, asphalt and binder material shall be blended before entering crusher in such a way as to produce a suitable and consistent crushed material as a final product. All material shall pass through a magnetic system to remove 90% to 100% of metallic materials. The material shall be stockpiled at this location with a stacker conveyor. No equipment of any kind will be allowed on the final product stockpile.
