Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Edge mill 1.5 inch of existing asphalt from face of curb to a distance adequate to provide proper tie-in with in the specified length and according to the location key. b. Milling is required on streets that are “overlay only” at driveways, around inlets, manholes, etc. when applicable. c. Milling is required on streets that are concrete at driveways, around inlets, at tie in’s, etc. when applicable. d. There may be some re-build sections on streets. This can vary from pulling out loose pieces of road and filling in to complete rebuild before 0.5 inch asphalt stratch/leveling course and 1.0 inch wearing 1 course is laid. e. Contractor is required to place 0.5 inch hot laid bituminous asphalt stratch/leveling course in the stated areas after the pavement removal is completed. f. Before placement of 1.0 inch hot laid bituminous asphalt a roller pass must be established for City personnel to determine adequate compaction. If batch number changes then another roller pass must to be established. Contractor is responsible for providing compaction testing to establish roller pass. g. Place 1.0 inch hot laid bituminous asphalt wearing course in the stated areas after application of stratch/leveling course is completed. h. Adjust water valve, manholes, and inlets where applicable. The adjustment will be completed by the use of precast iron risers for sanitary manholes and water valves. Sealing on the inside of the riser ring will be required for all sanitary manholes. The adjustment may be completed by the use of adjustable riser rings for storm water manholes. See attached spec sheets for products. i. Provide a detailed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan. See traffic control section below for more information. j. After completion of road resurfacing the contractor is responsible for sealing of edges, tie in’s, driveways, center joint, etc (503001-001). This price is incidental to 401002-001 Marshall wearing 1 course work. k. After completion of road resurfacing the contractor shall reinstall pavement marking (centerlines, lane lines, directional arrows, and cross walks). Placement of pavement markings shall be coordinated based on locations of existing lines/dashes to ensure markings are in compliance with the current WV DOH specifications. This price is incidental to 401002-001 Marshall wearing 1 course work.
