Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary duty of the consultant will be to monitor, track, and lobby public transportation and/or transit issues at the U.S. Congress and the Administration under the direction of the Government Relations Director and/or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Other duties may include, but are not limited to: 6.2.1.1. Provide guidance and advice to Valley Metro, and their member agencies, to pursue potential Federal funding opportunities from all transportation and non-transportation sources. 6.2.1.2. Coordinate Valley Metro lobby efforts and strategies with appropriate staff. 6.2.1.3. Work with member agency staff and their Washington, D.C. representatives, and serve as the Washington, D.C. liaison for Valley Metro as it relates to federal transit authorizing and funding provisions and other legislative issues as may be assigned. 6.2.1.4. Establish and maintain close liaison with the Arizona Congressional delegation and relevant committee staff. 6.2.1.5. Awareness and potential coordination with the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Maricopa Association of Governments, Federal agencies, officers, and appropriate elected officials.
