Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Virginia Street Complete Streets Project will incorporate additional sidewalks, buffered bike lanes and/or shared-use path, improved pedestrian safety facilities, improved transit stops, and park and rides. The project is anticipated to increase multimodal access through the corridor, improve connectivity between Reno and the North Valleys region, and enhance pedestrian safety. The DEPARTMENT is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to perform the design for the North Valleys Phase 2, Stead Boulevard to Cold Springs 3R, and North Virginia Complete Streets Projects. The Projects will address existing traffic congestion issues on US 395 north of Reno, by adding travel and auxiliary lanes, preserving infrastructure, and incorporating intelligent transportation features to address traffic safety and efficiency. The North Valleys Phase 2, and Stead Boulevard to Cold Springs 3R Projects are located on US 395, from the Golden Valley Road Interchange to approximately 0.1 miles south of the Cold Springs Interchange. The North Virginia Complete Streets Project is located on North Virginia Street, between North McCarran Boulevard and Panther Drive, in Washoe County.
