Specifications include, but are not limited to: Legal Counsel Services may include but not necessarily limited to: 1. Providing timely legal counsel promptly upon request by the Board of Commissioners, the Chief Executive Officer, General Counsel, or senior staff. 2. Review, prepare, and advise on resolutions, minutes, and other official documents as requested. 3. Review, prepare, and advise on draft contracts and agreements, as requested. 4. Advise as to CAW’s duties, obligations and responsibilities under appropriate law and help develop strategies for dealing with such matters 5. Advise and assist with all legal issues related to the acquisition, disposal, transfer, and management of real estate and property. 6. Advise on legal issues related to developing and implementing customer rates and charges. 7. Represent the utility in a variety of legal proceedings. 8. Advise on legal issues related to compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. 9. Represent the utility on legislative matters (at both the local and state level) which directly or indirectly impact the utility, including assisting with the development of answers to legal and legislative challenges facing the utility. 10. Make arrangements and prepare and/or review resolutions, orders, agreements, contracts, and other documents related to bond issues.
