Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University is requesting design services to fully renovate the 3rd and 4th Floors along with approximately two-thirds of 5th Floor in Shepard Laboratories (located at 100 Union St SE) for the College of Science & Engineering (CSE). CSE is a continued leader in the Science/ Engineering/ Robotics Fields and with the near completion of the Lind Hall Renovation in 2022 will help vacate these select Shepherd Labs floors making now the opportune time to renovate. The 13,160 GSF floor plates of Shepherd Labs will look to accommodate new robotics and vision, virtual reality/ augmented reality, human computer interaction/ social computing, perception/ attention, natural language processing, and graphics/ visualization. The Project will also require select infrastructure upgrades, select exterior upgrades and bathroom renovations along with code compliance upgrades. The design/ program layout of the space is to compliment the work recently completed on the 1st and 2nd Floors along with the other one-third of 5th Floor of Shepherd Labs which is to include the matching of the materials and finishes (as applicable). The departments that will occupy the proposed renovated space will include: Minnesota Robotics Institute (MnRI) Computer Science and Engineering Department (CS&E) Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics Department (AEM) Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering (CEGE) History of Science and Technology (HST) - currently housed on 5th Floor's previously renovated space
