Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) seeks qualified individuals or firms to conduct investigations relating to the agency’s investigatory processes and needs, including but not limited to supporting the investigation of reports of educator misconduct and human resource investigations. RIDE will maintain a list of eligible investigators that may be utilized for the purpose of investigating educator misconduct and human resources claims and workplace investigations. 1. Review report of educator misconduct or human resource claim and any supporting materials received by RIDE to develop a plan for investigation. 2. Conduct highly skilled investigative assignments, interview complainants and witnesses, 3. Work collaboratively with law enforcement, department leadership, the Attorney General and members of the Attorney General’s office, County Attorneys, and other partners. Coordinate with agencies at the local, state and federal levels as appropriate. 4. Maintain proficiency in criminal investigation techniques and current case law so that duties and responsibilities are performed in an effective legal manner. 5. Control, monitor, and communicate investigative operations, progress and reporting to Department Leadership, making recommendations for the effective allocation of agency resources. 6. Produce a report summarizing facts and information found. Provide full report and all documentation to RIDE.
