Specifications include, but are not limited to: Function as a single point of entry for Child Protective Services (CPS), youth apprehensions, and service referrals to the Racine County Human Services Department. At Access, staff performs critical public relations function by responding professionally and sensitively to concerns of child maltreatment raised by individuals in the community. In addition, staff educates and clarifies the role that the agency plays regarding referrals of suspected abuse and neglect. 4.1 Represent the agency to the community. 4.2 Process and prioritize all requests for information and assistance. Direct agency-specific referrals to the appropriate Human Services Division / Unit. 4.3 Educate callers about child maltreatment and the CPS role. 4.4 Gather sufficient information for Access decision making. 4.5 Determine the nature of reports or requests and the urgency required for response. 4.6 Gather sufficient information for Access decision making. 4.7 Assess the credibility and motivation of reporters. 4.8 For non-Abuse/Neglect reports, assist the caller by providing requested information or directing the caller to the place they can get the requested information. 4.9 Meet with crisis walk-ins for report taking, information distribution, and referral making. 4.10 Complete thorough and accurate CPS reports, service reports, and youth apprehensions in eWiSACWIS. Ensure reports are meeting State Standards. 4.11 Document calls and requested for information
