Specifications include, but are not limited to: the renovation of approximately 5,850 square feet of the existing first floor Cooper Auditorium space in the College of Nursing Building. The proposed design consists of removing the existing operable partitions and dividing the auditorium spaces into two permanent lecture hall classroom spaces. Supporting Audio/Visual spaces are to be added along with ADA accessibility upgrades as required per code. Audio/Visual equipment will be provided and installed by AVI Systems, but the CMR will need to coordinate with UNMC and AVI during construction. No exterior work is anticipated or part of the scope of this project. The existing construction type is type II-B, Assembly Occupancy for the lecture halls (B for the rest of the building), and the building is fully sprinklered. Contractors will have access to the existing first-floor areas during construction. The construction staging area has not been determined at this time.
