Specifications include, but are not limited to: Some asbestos pipe insulation has fallen to the floor in places. In all rooms where damaged asbestos pipe insulation is present, all loose building materials on the floors of those areas should be treated as asbestos contaminated material and be removed. The roof has partially collapsed in places in the gymnasium and the floor is covered in assorted debris. The remaining ceiling seems to be stable as of July 2022. No asbestos is present in the main floor classrooms, the wood flooring in those areas should be avoided as they may not be safe to walk on. The floor in classroom #2 has partially collapsed into the basement classroom, but all asbestos located there should still be accessible. Gym stage mechanical room was flooded with 1.5 feet of water as of July 2022. One concrete block wall of the gym has fallen outward, but roof supports are still solid. One concrete wall in the basement boiler room has collapsed and that area was flooded as of July 2022. That room has been deemed unsafe to work in and should be avoided. Coordination for disposal of asbestos contaminated material removed from the site will be with the New Rockford Inert Landfill (1874 69th Ave NE). A variance for asbestos disposal will be obtained for this project.
