Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is seeking interested bidders to manage approximately 130.0 acres of aspen dominated forest in the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota. The Department has selected four (4) –management blocks consisting of 70.0 acres in Sec. 36 – T. 164N – R. 71W, and two (2) – management blocks consisting of 60.0 acres in Sec. 16 – T. 163N – R. 73W, all in Rolette County, North Dakota. • Clearing all understory with a diameter of less than 6” down to ground level. • Removing all aspen trees with a diameter of 6” or greater within the management blocks to a height no greater than 6” of ground level and stacking of all tree material. • Any woody materials which are not hauled off site shall be stacked in slash piles at each management block. Due to the varying sizes of management blocks, the Department will work with the successful bidder on the number of slash piles and locations. The slash piles may not include any non-vegetative material including dirt. Piles shall be stacked in a manner where the stack is approximately as high as it is wide. • Contractor may harvest and remove the aspen material, if desired.
