Specifications include, but are not limited to: he successful bidder will furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment and materials to accomplish the following. . Waste Profiling: a. The successful bidder will be responsible for removal of all chemical waste and disposal of same as outlined per the attached. b. Acceptance of the waste at the selected disposal facility will require that an accurate profile of waste streams be developed. The successful bidder will provide the required waste stream characterization sheets and representative samples to the facility. c. Verification of the identification of the hazardous waste and testing will be the responsibility of the successful bidder. d. The hazardous waste is located on the campus of NDSU in Fargo, ND at the Material Handling Facility. The facility is at ground level and a loading dock is available. e. None of the hazardous waste shall be co-mingled or combined inside an approved container with waste from another hazardous waste generator. 2. Packaging: a. Bidder must use only containers that are DOT (Department of Transportation) approved for packaging and transport of hazardous waste. b. The successful bidder shall provide overpacks where necessary and will use their equipment and personnel to pack any damaged drums into overpacks. 3. Labeling, Placarding and Loading: a. Successful bidder must supply labels and assure that each shipping container of hazardous waste shall have the appropriate hazard and notification labels attached securely prior to being loaded on the transport vehicle. b. Each transport vehicle must have all appropriate placards in place prior to leaving premises. c. Successful bidder to provide supervision at time of loading equipment and labor for loading and shall insure loading conforms to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. 4. Manifesting: a. The successful bidder shall provide and assist North Dakota State University in the completion of all required manifests relating to the waste shipment developed as a part of this bid for signature by the University’s representative, using EPA form 8700-22 (or equivalent). b. Successful bidder will provide documentation of waste handling activities in the form of individual drum contents inventory sheets. These inventory sheets must contain commonly known chemical names of the waste, its EPA waste code number, DOT hazard classification number, weight, and disposal method. 5. Transportation: a. The successful bidder will transport the waste containers to the disposal facility in a transport vehicle that is specifically adapted for hazardous waste transport. The transporter shall have all necessary licenses, permits, insurance and shall operate in strict compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. b. Drivers of transport vehicles must be trained in hazardous material handling and emergency response.
