Specifications include, but are not limited to: Design and construction of +/- 530 linear feet of sidewalk, curbing, crosswalk, and associated signage along Bay Street from the existing Trailhead Pavilion north to the lower Portland Street Bridge. ; • Design and construction of bicycle and pedestrian improvements from the Pomerleau Building at Depot Square, through the “honking tunnel” which passes under an active freight rail line, to Bay Street including resurfacing with stamped asphalt, installation of lighting and signage to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.; • Design and construction of an approximately 2,800 linear-foot bike/pedestrian trail from the existing cross-country trail at the edge of the Green Mountain Power Company property, continuing south cross country along the river, around the Wastewater Treatment Facility, across the active rail line and under the South Main Street Bridge to the existing trail head of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail on South Main Street.; • Design and construction of trail lighting along the cross-country trail section beginning at the Trailhead Pavilion extending to the existing trail head of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail on South Main Street.; • Design and construction of overflow parking on Bay Street adjacent to the trail improvements.; • A minimally-improved side pedestrian path located along an existing fisherman’s foot path connecting the bike trail to the Passumpsic River. Grading plans at an existing Combined Sewer Overflow outfall adjacent to the path will also be part of the design.; • Design and construction of exhibit spaces for cultural, educational and historical exhibits along the proposed and existing cross-country trail.; • Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) should be utilized in site design to the extent feasible, with consideration given to soil contamination issues in the project area.
