Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide Asbestos Project Management and Air Monitoring Services. The Contractor shall be required to monitor, conduct air sampling and document the activities of all tasks performed by the University's contracted Asbestos Operations and Management Team (O&M) for the duration of the agreement to ensure the safety of University students, staff, visitors and contracted personnel, and compliance with University policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT). The Contractor shall also, upon request of the University, collect and analyze, arrange for analysis, bulk samples of suspect asbestos containing materials, and perform asbestos hazard and condition assessments. Should the Contractor not have bulk analytical capabilities the samples must be analyzed by a laboratory licensed by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MeDEP) and acceptable to the University. The hourly rate shall include all asbestos analytical costs (TEM analysis excluded). Building-wide asbestos surveys are excluded from this contract; any buildingwide surveys will be awarded by a separate competitive bid process. Project Management/Monitoring of projects not performed by the O&M Contractor are excluded from this contract and will be procured by a separate competitive bid process.
