Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Idaho Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing, hereby publishes notice of intent to approve a sole source authorization for Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to purchase Hidex 300SL from LabLogic Systems Inc.. This notice is being given pursuant to Idaho Code section 67-9221. The ability to separate luminescence and quench corrected counts directly via the TDCR process rather than via numerical models based on measurements made in the lab from radioactive calibration materials. This is particularly important for the Low- Level Tritium Enrichment analysis preformed at the EML. The enrichment process is heavily dependent on a vacuum distillation process to remove all luminescence and quench causing materials in the sample such as sodium hydroxide and metal oxides from electrode corrosion. This vacuum distillation process is as much an art as a science and training and assigning this work to capable individuals is increasingly challenging with the turnover in the lab. Using a LSC that can count samples without any ambiguity in luminescence and quenched counts will greatly streamline the vacuum distillation process and the overall analysis of low-level tritium by the enrichment process. Furthermore, the HIDEX systems are the only LSCs with software, which can operate via 21 CFR part 11 compliant software. 21 CFR part 11 relates to electronic records and compliance is becoming increasingly necessary under certain regulated operations under NRC, EPA and FDA for instance.
