Specifications include, but are not limited to: s professional completion of the Interstate Park Drive Reconstruction project; The project generally includes the construction of underground storm drainage, earthwork, roadway widening, curbs, sidewalks, driveway aprons and related work; As noted, the reconstructed roadway will be of asphalt design. Specific traffic and wheel loading criteria is not available. However, it is anticipated that the new pavement will be subject primarily to light vehicle traffic associated with Interstate Park activity. However, low volume trash service vehicles and bus traffic is expected. Historically, the existing roadway was constructed over a former landfill tract that had been capped and closed. Specific information was not available regarding subgrade preparation or pavement structure design considerations for the existing roadway. However, at the time of the November field study and observations, the existing asphalt pavement exhibited the following conditions. • Locally poor surface drainage with ponding along the shoulders and edge cracking • Erratic presence of settlement i.e., depressions in the pavement with ponding • Areas of severe alligator cracking • Local mud pumping through the asphalt, primarily on the east end • Areas of skin patching and deep patching of failures • General loss of roadway longitudinal and transverse profile with related undulations and loss of serviceability i.e., visual PSR – poor to very poor
