All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: Conner Sports Flooring Rezill Channel-01 or equal – Vendor will supply Conner Sports Flooring Rezill Channel – 01 or equal floor system which will be level with all gym entry ways and meet or exceed the following requirements: 4.1.2.1 Performance Requirements: A. Flooring system shall have been independently tested to the International standards: DIN 18032, Part 2 or EN14904. B. To be considered a valid independent DIN testing laboratory, the laboratory must be recognized by the MFMA and must adhere to DIN testing methodologies and standards. 4.1.2.2 Flooring material requirements: A. Flooring must be random-length strip flooring; MFMA Northern hard maple, kiln dried, random length, tongue and groove, and end matched. Finger-jointed wood is not acceptable. Flooring will meet or exceed the following: a. Grade: MFMA Second or Better b. Cut: Edge c. Thickness: 25/32 inch. d. Face Width: 2-1/4 inches. 4.1.2.3 Subfloor materials: A. Lower Layer - 11/32” x nominal 2’x8’ APA rated sheathing, exposure 1, with Rezill or equal pads pre-attached. B. Upper Layer - 11/32” x nominal 2’x8’ APA rated sheathing, exposure 1, with manufactured anchor pockets. C. Blocking is required at bleacher locations. Supply and install firm foundation to support weight of bleachers in open and closed positions. 4.1.3 Preparation – Vendor will prepare the site for floor installation and will meet or exceed the following requirements: 4.1.3.1 Concrete Slabs: Vendor must verify concrete substrates are dry and moisture-vapor emissions are with acceptable levels and in compliance with the flooring manufacturers’ specifications. 4.1.3.2 Level subfloor: Vendor must grind high spots and fill low spots on concrete substrates to produce a maximum 1/8-inch deviation in any direction when checked with a 10’ straight edge. A. Vendor must use trowelable leveling and patching compounds, according to the manufacturer’s written instructions to: fill cracks, holes and depressions in substrates. B. If concrete is found to be in need of signification repair, Kanawha County Schools and the Vendor will determine the best solution, if needed, a written change order will be issued. 4.1.3.3 Vendor will remove coatings including curing compounds and other substances on substrates that are incompatible with installation which includes but is not limited to: adhesives and that contain soap, wax, oil, or silicone. Vendor must use a method as prescribed by the flooring manufacturer and should not use solvents. 4.1.4 Installation – Vendor will install Conner Sports Flooring Rezill Channel – 01 or equal floor system in a manner will meet or exceed the following: 4.1.4.1 General: Vendor must comply with wood athletic flooring manufacturer’s written instructions but not less than the written recommendations of MFMA applicable to flooring type indicated. 4.1.4.2 Expansions spaces: Vendor will provide as indicated, but not less than that as required by the manufacturer’s written instructions and MFMA’s written recommendations at walls and other obstructions and at interruptions and terminations of flooring. A. Vendor shall cover expansion spaces with base molding, trim, and saddles, as indicated on the drawings attached hereto. 4.1.4.3 Vapor Retarder: Vendor shall cover entire slab area beneath wood flooring with a vapor retarder. Install with joints lapped a minimum of 6 inches and properly sealed. 4.1.4.4 Volleyball court hardware (volleyball pole receiver): Vendor may reuse existing Volleyball court hardware and will replace volleyball hardware situated in gymnasium flooring to a condition the same as, or better than, the original gym flooring design. New hardware may be required for proper installation.
