Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Prepare existing epoxy floor to accept sealant using the manufacturer's recommendations for surface preparation. The existing flooring is epoxy coated and does not easily accept water and therefore will need to be acid etched, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. 2. Protect all areas adjacent to flooring to prevent damage to existing facility. Any damage to the existing facility shall be repaired by the contractor at no charge to the government. 3. Seal the Hangar Floor with Armor SX5000 WB Penetrating Silane Siloxane Concrete Sealer and Masonry Water Repellent. A non-slip additive shall be used for the all application of the product. 4. Apply two coats at the manufacturer's recommended coverage rate of 200-225 SF/gallon for each coat. 5. The contractor shall perform a test section to be approved by the government prior to execution of the entire project. 6. Work with the user and project manager to develop a floor markings layout for safety markings required in the hangar. Layout shall be approved by the government prior to application. The square footage of markings required shall be 2,000 SF. Provide a unit price for markings in case a change order is required for markings in excess of this square footage. All markings shall be two (2) coats. 7. Attachment 3 and 4 show the original marking plan for the facility. The project will require these markings as well as the following: a. Yellow stripe 4 foot clear zone on both sides of hangar doors. These areas shall also have a 14 by 20 inch or larger "DANGER" sign painted on the floor just outside the clear zone in accordance with Table 29.3 ofAFMAN 91-203. Place the sign so it can be read when approaching the hazard area. The word "DANGER" shall be printed on top with white letters with a message below stating "HAZARDOUS AREA-STAND CLEAR DURING DOOR OPERATIONS." There shall be a minimum of two "DANGER" signs on each side of the door. 8. Paint markings shall comply with attachment 1 -321723 fl -pavement markings. 9. Pricing all work to be conducted during normal work hours only, Monday through Friday. All work must be conducted during weather adequate to allow for proper adhesion of sealant and paint.
