Specifications include, but are not limited to: Washoe County School District (WCSD) is soliciting for bid submissions to provide monitoring, analytical services and chemicals for the proper maintenance up to and including, on an as needed basis, the clean-out of chemical barrels, flush out of chemical pumps, flush out chemical lines and clean out Cooling Towers of the chilled water systems, cooling tower systems and hydronic heating systems at the Washoe County School District buildings and locations as shown in WCSD WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM, LOCATION LIST (EXHIBIT D) included in this Bid document.; A. Report to the HVAC Shop Supervisor or designated alternate before any work is started. Contact the WCSD’s Facilities Management Department at (775) 851-5690 if an authorized WCSD representative is unavailable.; B. Inspect and maintain, in proper working order, all chemical feeding equipment.; C. Collect and analyze all required water samples.; D. Add chemicals based on the results of the on-site testing and lab analyses.; E. Inspect all equipment relating to the operation of the various systems (heating and cooling) such as water level safeties, etc.; F. Immediately inform the appropriate WCSD personnel of ALL heating and cooling system safety related issues.; G. Prepare a service report to be reviewed with the HVAC Shop Supervisor or designated alternate.; During these service visits the service technician shall: • Inspect all chemical feed and cooling tower blow down equipment and make adjustments and repairs unless new parts are required to affect the repair. In the event new parts are required, the HVAC Shop Supervisor or designated alternate will be immediately informed.; • After water testing and following the analysis of the on-site water test results, the service technician will make any necessary chemical feed rate and blow down rate adjustments.; • Visually inspect all equipment, cooling towers, chillers, all pumps, and piping. Report any recommended repairs to the HVAC Shop Supervisor or designated alternate and in writing on the service report.; • Inventory all chemicals to insure adequate supplies until the next scheduled visit.; • Collect samples of all outdoor cooling tower water systems during the August service visit using the appropriate sample containers required for shipping to a certified lab for analysis at the expense of the awarded Bidder.; • A non-oxidizing biocide, as determined by industry standards, shall be furnished for daily shot feeding or continuous chemical metering. All outdoor cooling towers will have a dual feed biocide arrangement. Sufficient inventory must be maintained to allow control of the planktonic bacteria and other microorganisms. Control shall be verified by inspection of the cooling tower deck and by total plate count taken during each scheduled site inspection. All indoor cooling towers will use bromine in a pot feeder, which successful bidder will maintain with bromine tablets and maintain functionality on feed systems.
