Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Clean and inspect truck bolsters. Must comply with instructions and requirements of SMP 46617.; 2. Clean and inspect swing hangers and crossbars. Must comply with instructions and requirements of SMP 46605. Brinell testing (not in contract) will be performed at ARRC car shop after cleaning by contractor and prior to painting.; 3. Clean and inspect equalizer bars. Must comply with instructions and requirements of SMP 46603. Brinell testing (not in contract) will be performed at ARRC car shop after cleaning by contractor and prior to painting.; 4. Clean and inspect equalizer springs according to SMP 46617 Item 7.; 5. Clean and inspect equalizer spring seats according to SMP 46617.; 6. Clean and inspect truck frame and spring plank. Must comply with instructions and requirements of SMP 46617. In addition, care should be taken not to bend the legs of the truck frames, especially while transporting and dye penetration testing.; 7. Clean and visually inspect anchor rods and anchor rod bolts.; 8. Clean and visually inspect all brake rigging, pins, levers, bushings, guides and component parts for cracks, broken, or worn conditions.; 9. Remove all shoe heads and inspect shoe head pins for cracks. Inspect shoe head retaining buttons to ensure they are tight and have a full contour. When equipped with "C" frame (CFM) brakes, clean and inspect C frames for cracks.; 10. Prime all parts in accordance with appendix C.
