Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2. Services. Contractor shall provide: a. Provide one (1) day shift unarmed uniformed security officer i. Dayshift will be from 7:00am to 3:00pm PST ii. Dayshift Officer must also act as the Supervisor for all shifts. b. Provide one (1) swing shift unarmed uniformed security officer i. Swing shift will be from 3:00pm to 11:00pm PST 3. Services & Requirements Defined. a. Stationed inside the front entrance of the building where they may provide assistance to the visitors. b. Observe camera monitors of facility grounds for any unusual or suspicious activity. c. Conducting standard random security rounds throughout the Facility, including its exterior grounds, between the hours of 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Contractor’s personnel performing the rounds shall check in with nursing personnel at each nursing station in the Facility. d. Arriving at the Facility’s front lobby at mutually agreed upon times., adjusted as needed, to escort Division staff to their vehicles at the change of the Division’s shift, if required. e. Securing the Facility building(s) at 10:30 P.M., except for entrances/exits designated by the Division in writing to the Contractor as remaining unlocked. f. Unlocking entrances/exits designated by the Division in writing to the Contractor at 7:00 A.M., or such other time as is identified in writing to the Contractor. g. Checking all exterior doors, windows, gates and all state vehicles on rounds to assure they are locked. Contractor’s personnel shall report any problems to the Division’s on-site supervisor. h. Contractor’s personnel shall report unauthorized or suspicious persons, objects or activity pursuant to a procedure mutually agreed upon by Contractor and the Division. If Contractor’s personnel call for additional assistance, Contractor’s personnel shall remain with suspicious persons, keeping safe distance to control situations until assistance arrives and the situation is resolved. i. Responding to call-in requests for assistance by Division staff members, visitors or residents within 10 minutes. j. Checking for smoke and fire. If a problem is found, Contractor’s personnel shall report the problem immediately to a Charge Nurse at closest nurse’s station. k. Deterring theft and vandalism. l. Responding in an average of 10 minutes to emergency calls. m. Providing personnel available between 11:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. seven days a week for emergency calls. Emergency calls include, but are not limited to, assistance with searches for residents. n. Identify alarms indicating possible fire, water leaks, or other problems relating to state property. o. Identify safety hazards. Report any issues immediately to the building facility foreman or designee. p. Interact with police/fire personnel in emergency situations. q. Guards shall have no less than 12 months’ prior experience in the role of security guard. r. Keep trespassers and loiterers off the property, and contact law enforcement, as necessary.
