All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this APA is to solicit qualified vendors that provide professional and competitive scrap metal removal and related services. All payments will be made to the General Treasurer, State of Rhode Island under this contract. All payments will be made based on a percentage (+/-) of the AMM index posting for the date of service. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) generates various amounts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals on a continuous basis. These metals range in size and shapes consisting of but not limited to; light iron, heavy iron, extruded aluminum poles, retired highway signage / lighting and mixed insulated copper wires.; FULL SERVICE: Full service is when the qualified vendor uses their own equipment, labor, vehicles and tools to load and remove scrap metals from a RIDOT location into their own collection unit(s) for disposal. All costs associated with this service are the vendor's responsibility and are of no charge to RIDOT.; SERVICE ORDERING: RIDOT will request service by e-mail or fax. RIDOT may establish a standard schedule to meet operation requirements. The qualified vendor is required to accomplish the service ordered under this contract within five (5) business days from the placement of service order.; SUB CONTRACTORS: The use of a private carrier or subcontractor to make delivery or pickups will not relieve the vendor from their responsibility of meeting the delivery, drop off, and pick up, methods of payment and/or time frame requirements.
