Specifications include, but are not limited to: This RFQ serves as a notice of Nevada’s adoption process to review core FA-CIMs for grades kindergarten through twelve during the 2022-2023 school year. FA-CIMs that are aligned to the Nevada Academic Content Standards-aligned, Fine Arts Core Tier 1 curriculum and instructional materials that drive instruction in Fine Arts for grades K-12 will be accepted for review from providers/publishers NO LATER THAN September 12, 2022 . FA-CIM submissions will only be accepted in digital/online formats . The Nevada Fine Arts Curriculum and Instructional Materials Review Committee (FA-CIMRC) will begin their review and will present their recommendations to NDE for possible adoption by the State Board of Education in Winter 2023. The following format will be used in this review and adoption process.; LEVEL 1: NDE staff will conduct a technical review to verify all FA-CIM documentation submitted is complete and ready to be reviewed by the FA-CIMRC members. Providers will be notified if they are rejected during the internal technical review by email no later than October 3, 2022 . Providers of any rejected FA-CIMs from the internal technical review have 30 days from the email date to provide rebuttal/remediation to the findings. Decisions regarding any FA-CIM provider rebuttals will be made on a case-by-case basis by NDE. Note: A technical review webinar will take place on August 24, 2022, for those who have any questions about the submission process. LEVEL 2: The Fine Arts CIMRC reviewers will independently review their assigned Fine Arts CIMS and then meet virtually as a team to create a consensus-generated rating and recommendation for the Content Area Review Panels (CARP). Recommendations will be based on how submissions address criteria of the rubrics (alignment to the Nevada Academic Content Standards and social justice). LEVEL 3: The CARP will present a recommended list of Fine Arts CIMs to NDE for possible adoption by the State Board of Education (SBE). The adopted list will include annotated reviews, publisher responses, and public comment to provide information to the districts. Providers of any rejected FA-CIMs have 30 days from the FA-CIMRC recommendation and SBE ruling (whichever is the latest) to provide rebuttal to the findings. Decisions regarding any IM provider rebuttals will be made on a case-by-case basis by a subcommittee of NDE and statewide FA-CIMRC members.
