Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids to: Cut, pile, burn & treat woody invasive species vegetation using herbicide and mechanical cutting on approximately 36 acres at 1 site on Yucatan Wildlife Management Area located in Houston County in southeast Minnesota.; A. Do NOT cut or Treat: • Ground Juniper, Oak, Apple, Hickory; • Walnut OVER 10 inches in DBH; B. Cut, Treat, Pile & Burn: • All Cedar trees inside flagged/spray painted area; • All deciduous trees OVER 6 inches DBH, EXCEPT species listed above. Deciduous species include but are not limited to: Birch, Aspen, Maple, Basswood, Ash, Elm, Hackberry, Cherry and Walnut.; C. Cut & Treat: See Herbicide Requirements Below for Treatment Options: • All deciduous trees UNDER 6 inches DBH, EXCEPT species listed above. Deciduous species include but are not limited to: Birch, Aspen, Maple, Basswood, Ash, Elm, Hackberry, Cherry and Walnut.; • Deciduous Trees UNDER 6 inches DBH must be bucked up so they lay flat on the ground, and do not need to be burned.; • Trees growing out of large rock outcrops need to be cut. The contractor is expected to make an effort to cut and treat those trees safely accessible. The contractor must contact the project manager if he/she feels many of the trees are not safe for access. Contractor & Project manager will make an onsite evaluation together to come to an agreement on what modifications needed for the specifications.; D. Double Girdle & Treat: • Trees growing into the crowns of Oaks and or Hickory trees that, if cut, would significantly damage the Oak or Hickory tree may be double girdled; E. Cut and herbicide treat or basal spray all invasive brush: See Herbicide Requirements Below for Treatment Options: • Contractor must cut all trees/brush/stumps as close to the ground as possible, 3 inch high is maximum height of stumps/stems.; • In situations where rock prevents cutting to 3 inches or below, a taller stump may be left.; • All stems 1/4-inch dbh or larger of undesirable trees including: buckthorn, honeysuckle, boxelder, Chinese elm, ash, ironwood, black locust, prickly ash, dogwood, sumac and birch, ninebark.; • All buckthorn or honeysuckle; • All multiflora rose & Japanese barberry
