Specifications include, but are not limited to: DHS will provide one (1) State Survey Agency (SSA) surveyor to assist in conducting surveys. Surveys must be conducted in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines including, without limitation, Survey Procedures for Life Safety Code Surveys and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Each survey must include the following: 1. Review previous survey data and prepare packets of forms to be completed in a survey following principles for documentation 2. Reviews documents for compliance with Federal and State regulations. 3. Schedules surveys and provides notification to providers 4. Interviews facility staff and patients to determine compliance 5. Observes facility practice 6. Conducts entrance and exit conferences 7. Review Medicare, licensure, and complaint survey packets for accuracy and completeness 8. Records all necessary information for complaints and reviews plans of corrections for acceptability 9. Compile a survey report for each facility with results
