Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contracted activities may include, but are not limited to, data collection/surveys, literature review, on-line research, statistical analysis, informant interviews, focus groups, and report writing. At a minimum the Contractor must: a. Conduct one or two focus groups with self-advocates to understand what recipients of HCBS see as the limitations in current residential service models and the desired features of new service-supported housing models. Self advocate concerns are also documented in legislative testimony regarding HB 720, now Act 186 and in notes from prior focus groups held by DDSD with self-advocates and family members.; b. Conduct one or two focus groups with family caregivers to understand what they see as the limitations in current residential service models and the desired features of new service-supported housing models. Family concerns are also documented in materials developed by family advocates who testified on behalf of HB 720, now Act 186, and in notes from prior focus groups held by DDSD with self-advocates and family members.; c. In collaboration with project partners, identify states that have viable residential service models. Conduct informant interviews with representatives from these state programs. This is one of the two core activities of this project. The Contractor is encouraged to place priority on the services provided in residential settings, rather than focus on the nature of the building or setting where the services are delivered.; d. Seek input from Directors of Developmental Disability Services at Designated and Specialized Service agencies to help estimate the demand for alternative service supported housing models and to identify subgroups within this population. Survey a representative sample of self-advocates and/or family members to help estimate the demand for alternative service supported housing models and to identify subgroups within this population. Or use an alternative strategy to solicit this information. This is the second core activity of this project.
