The Federal Government has a requirement for a Performance-Based ServiceContract for Trail Opening for the USDA Forest Service, Bitterroot National Forest. Peformance-Based means the Contractor is responsible for an end product. If anend product is not provided in compliance with the contract specifications, anadjustment to the payment will be made.
The work involves performing Trail Opening on Wilderness trails throughout the Idaho portion of the Bitterroot National Forest Selway Wilderness. The type of work includes:“Logging Out” all downed or leaning trees within the clearing limits; “LooseRock Removal” of all rocks larger than 6 inches from the trail tread; and
“Drainage Clearing” of all drainage structures made out of log or rock. TrailOpening standards, specifications and performance requirements are detailedbelow. Contractors are required to complete work to meet these specificationsand performance requirements as explained in solicitation.
