Specifications include, but are not limited to: The survey will be administered for all main-line fixed-route routes from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM to capture rider patterns throughout the day. The information gathered from riders shall include where they boarded this bus and where they will depart, as well as if they have or will make any transfers. The consultant shall coordinate with MPO and Metro Transit staff to develop a survey questionnaire (see Task 2). It is envisioned that the following survey information will be collected, but there may be some changes to this: • Date and time • Bus route, direction, and trip • Information on the complete one-way trip - Trip origin category (home, work, college/university, school, shopping, social, etc.) - Trip origin location - Boarding location - Trip destination category (home, work, college/university, school, shopping, social, etc.) - Trip destination location - Alighting location - List of routes taken or planned to be taken o Some respondents may include groups of possible routes for future trip legs, e.g., Routes 2, 10, or 15 - Mode of access at both ends of the trip (walk, bike-and-ride, bike-and-rack, park-and-ride, kissand-ride, etc.) • Fare type (cash, unlimited ride pass, 10-ride card, 31-day pass, 31-day low income pass, EZ Rider Youth pass, other) - Fare discounts (youth, senior/disabled) • Paratransit eligibility and eligibility category • Regularity of trip and regularity of Metro Transit use • Assessment of Transportation Security (see Transportation Security Index) The short form survey used for UW routes (See Appendix G) should also include: • Who they are: UW student, UW faculty/staff, UW hospital/clinics employee, visitor, other • Where they live: Eagle Heights/University Houses, UW Residence Halls, Other (including off campus) • Type of student: undergraduate, graduate, special, professional, guest, other The following information must be collected through the survey: • Household income • Age • Gender • Race • Hispanic/Non-Hispanic • English proficiency • Language spoken at home • Disability or mobility impairment
