Specifications include, but are not limited to: B. MOWING 1. Lawn areas shall be mowed at the appropriate height and frequency to keep them looking neat. Mowing height shall average approximately two (2) inches and shall vary depending on type of grass, turf surface, and time of season. Mowing height shall be raised slightly in summer and gradually lowered in the fall to prepare the turf for winter. As permitted by terrain, mowing direction shall be changed every week in accordance with sound horticultural practices. 2. Lawn clippings may be left to decompose and return valuable nutrients to the soil. If clippings become clumped from delay in mowing or from becoming wet, they shall be spread or removed to prevent unsightliness. Lawn clippings shall be removed where they may be tracked onto sidewalk or building areas. C. EDGING OF TURF AREAS 1. Edging shall be performed with a "line trimmer" along sidewalks and curbs. A clean, straight edge shall be maintained in a neat and consistent manner. 2. All clippings from edging shall be removed from sidewalks and curb areas and shall be disposed of properly to maintain a clean appearance. Clippings shall not be blown or swept into street or gutter. D. GRASS TRIMMING 1. All grass around trees, retaining walls, fences, posts, and other areas that the mower cannot cut shall be trimmed to the level of the surrounding turf. 2. Special care shall be taken so as not to scalp the turf or damage any small trees with the nylon line of the trimmer. E. CLEANUP 1. At the time of mowing, all trash (debris, paper, cans, bottles, tumble weeds and etc.) shall be removed from turf, bed and other areas, and disposed of properly. Lawn debris shall not be blown or swept into street or gutter. 2. Fallen leaves shall be removed from turf, beds, sidewalks, and parking areas during weekly mowing activities throughout the season. Leaves shall not be blown or swept into street or gutter. 3. In addition to regular weekly site cleanup, all Park and Ride locations shall have weekly trash can emptying services. This shall include removing and disposing of all trash as well as replacing trash can liners for all trash cans on site weekly. 4. Trash, dirt, maintenance function debris and all other debris shall be removed from sidewalks, entrances, patios, and planting bed areas and taken off the property on a same day basis. Debris shall not be blown or swept into street or gutter. 5. All clippings, tree limbs, and pruning shall be removed from site on a same day basis.
