Specifications include, but are not limited to: This bid is for an electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) system that will be attached to a Hitachi S3700N scanning electron microscope (SEM) located in the UW-Madison Department of Geoscience. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and EBSD will be used for crystallographic analysis of cryogenic materials, especially ice. The SEM and attached EBSD will be used to analyze natural ice samples from Antarctica, Greenland, and various alpine glaciers, as well as to analyze ice structures generated through lab-based experiments. The intent is to release a purchase order by August 31, 2022. See Specifications (Section 6) and (Attachment B) for the minimum acceptable specifications for items/services desired.
