Specifications include, but are not limited to: The sidewalk ramp on the southeast corner of Centennial Mall & ‘O’ Street shall consist of colored concrete sidewalk. All Portland Cement used in colored concrete on this project shall be from the same supplier to ensure uniform color throughout the project. The Contractor shall provide a 2’ x 2’ poured sample of the colored concrete pavement in a location as specified by the City’s Project Manager prior to the start of any work associated with the colored concrete pavement on the project for review and approval. All Concrete Sidewalk, 4”, Colored or Concrete Sidewalk, 9”, Colored shall be finished in a manner acceptable to the City’s Project Manager. The curing compound for colored concrete shall comply with ASTM C309 and be approved by the color additive manufacturer for use with colored concrete. The curing compound shall have a clear matte finish and shall be approved by the City’s Project Manager. The Contractor shall apply the curing compound according to manufacturer’s instructions using recommended application techniques. The Contractor shall apply the curing compound at a consistent time for each pour to maintain a close color consistency. The Contractor shall be familiar with the installation of colored concrete and shall adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the mix design, handling and placing procedures, forming and curing methods, surface finishes and textures, environmental conditions and craftsmanship.
