Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. JACKET MATERIAL a. The outer jacket material shall be constructed of high performance polyester with Polyurethane coating. The outer jacket shall be Class 3, Type R waterproof material. ______ _____ _______________________ b. The jacket shall have a zip out removable insulated fleece synthetic polyfill fiber liner. ______ _____ _______________________ c. The collar shall be made of fleece material. ______ _____ _______________________ 2. REFLECTIVE/HIGH VISIBILITY MATERIAL a. The outer fabric shall be safety (Hi-Vis) solid lime-yellow color with a black bottom. ______ _____ _______________________ b. The jacket shall have silver strips for day and night visibility. The strips shall consist of 2” wide reflective silver fabric. The reflective material shall be 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material, Product No. 8925, silver fabric. ______ _____ _______________________ i. All reflective strips shall be sewn or RF welded securely to the jacket. ______ _____ _______________________ ii. A 2” reflective strip shall be placed over each shoulder of the jacket (in front and back) and extend to a 2” 360° strip sewn around the lower portion of the jacket. ______ _____ _______________________ iii. There shall also be 2” reflective strips around each sleeve near the top and bottom of each sleeve. This totals to 2 reflective strips per arm sleeve. ______ _____ _______________________ iv. The amount of reflective material on the jacket shall be adequate to meet Class 3 Type R requirements. 3. BINDING a. All edges shall be bound and sewn with a single stitched durable cloth binding, being yellow or black in color. It is preferred the binding be the same color as the background material and the stitching be the same color as the material being sewn. ______ _____ _______________________ b. In the sewing process of the binding, the cloth binding shall be folded to create a smooth edge on all edges and seams. Plastic type bindings or borders are not acceptable. c. When sewing the reflective tape or bindings, a lock stitch shall be used. The stitch count shall be no less than 6 or more than 12 stiches per inch. ______ _____ _______________________ ______ _____ _______________________ 4. CONSTRUCTION a. The safety jacket shall be a bomber style jacket with elastic rib cuffs and waistband meeting specification similar to the Majestic High Visibility Transformer Jacket 8-1 Waterproof Jacket with Fleece Liner (75-1383) ______ _____ _______________________ b. The lower front half of the jacket body below the 360° reflective strip and the lower portion of the sleeve below the bottom reflective strip shall be of a black fabric meeting specification similar to the Majestic High Visibility Transformer Jacket 8-1 Waterproof Jacket with Fleece Liner (75-1383) ______ _____ _______________________ c. The body warmer liner shall be minimum 10oz/yd2 polyester fleece. ______ _____ _______________________ d. The sleeve liner shall be minimum 3.5oz/yd2 quilted polyester. ______ _____ _______________________ e. A heavy duty zipper shall be sewn vertically on the front center of the jacket and shall have a snap cover flap for the entire length of the zipper. ______ _____ _______________________ f. The jacket shall have a rollup storable and removable hood. ______ _____ _______________________ g. The jacket shall be available in the following sizes: Regular Sizes: M – 6XL Tall Sizes: L – 4XL ______ _____ _______________________ 5. WORKMANSHIP a. The workmanship of the safety jacket shall be of high quality, it shall be comfortable to wear and shall be free of ragged edges, surface blemishes, loose stitches, uneven seams, or any defect that would make the jacket unsuitable for its intended use.
