Specifications include, but are not limited to: On behalf of the City of Omaha’s Finance Department, the Douglas County Purchasing Agent is issuing this Request for Proposal for the City’s Property and Boiler Insurance – Broker of Record Services. The City underwrites the first $100,000 in property covered losses, except wind/hair in which deductibles are $250,000 or 2% and $5,000 for boiler coverage through its Contingency Liability Fund. Annual appropriations cover the insurance premiums. This RFP outlines expected brokerage insurance services.; 1. Identify issues and exposures and negotiate on the City’s behalf with insurance carriers and keep the City informed of significant developments. The vendor shall be authorized to represent and assist the City in discussions and transactions with all insurance carriers, provided that the vendor shall not place any insurance on behalf of the City unless authorized by the City.; 2. Following with insurance carriers for timely issuance of policies and endorsements. Following placement, deliver binders prior to expiration of current policies.; 3. Reviewing policies and endorsements for accuracy and conformity to specifications and negotiated coverages.; 4. Providing coverage summaries for all new coverage and updated changes to existing coverage.; 5. Processing or facilitating the processing of certificates of insurance, as requested by the City.; 6. All claims will be reported to the vendor who will forward the claim to the insurance carrier. The vendor shall monitor claim status and assist the City in obtaining timely resolution of the submitted claim.; 7. Provide on-going risk management advice and consultation.; 8. Conduct one (1) annual stewardship meeting.; 9. Provide detailed coverage recap of the policy schedules.
