Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1.1.1 Number fire doors estimated at 1,900 but could be more or less. 4.1.1.2 Written record of inspections and findings shall be signed by appropriate personnel at KCS and vendor representative and State Fire Marshal. 4.1.1.3 Goals set for inspections should be performance based and coordinated with vendor and KCS representative. 4.1.1.4 Goals should be established under a performance based program and shall provide assurance that the fire door assembly will perform its intended function when exposed to fire conditions. 4.1.1.5 Vendor shall develop historical data acceptable to the State Fire Marshal. 4.1.1.6 Technical justification for inspection, test and maintenance intervals shall be documented. 4.1.1.7 Functional testing of fire door assembly shall be performed by individual with knowledge and understanding of the operating components of the type of door being subject to testing. 4.1.1.8 Before testing, a visual inspection shall be performed to identify any damaged missing parts that can create a hazard during testing or affect operation or resetting. 4.1.1.9 Swinging doors with builder’s hardware or fire door hardware shall be inspected. 4.1.1.10Fire door assemblies shall be visually inspected from both sides to assess the overall condition of the door assembly.
