Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Consultant shall provide a variety of lobbying and non-lobbying activities for North Dakota State University: Advice and Guidance: The Consultant shall provide advice and guidance to NDSU regarding federal issues and legislative strategies. The Consultant will primarily work with the President, the Chief of Staff and the Vice President for Research and Creative Activity. The Consultant will alert the President, Chief of Staff or Vice President for Research and Creative Activity (as applicable) regarding matters that may impact NDSU. Tracking: The Consultant will track federal administrative activities and bills impacting NDSU and report on status (e.g., committee hearings, debates, proposed policies, etc.) Upon request, the Consultant will prepare detailed reports, including background research and analysis, regarding federal administrative activities and bills. Create/Coordinate: The Consultant will work with NDSU officials to help create a strategy for increasing NDSU research expenditures through federal opportunities. The consultant will coordinate NDSU’s activities with federal departments and agencies. The Consultant will pro-actively seek federal program activities and opportunities for NDSU. Lobbying: The Consultant will lobby with all aspects of the federal government on behalf of NDSU. This may include participating in multi-party lobbying coalitions. To that end, the Consultant will develop and maintain positive relationships with key federal officials and office-holders, including the North Dakota federal delegation and staff.
