Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete subgrade preparation, excavating, backfilling and grading in connection with this construction project.; 2. 2 BUILDING ELEVATION: The elevation of the building floor slab shall be set at 12" above the highest existing elevation found at the building perimeter before construction has begun.; 2. 3 TOPSOIL : The Contractor shall remove a minimum of 12 inches of existing sod and topsoil from the construction site. All removed topsoil shall be stock piled adjacent to the building site as directed by the owner to be used for backfill when the building has been completed.; 2. 4 FILLING AND GRADING: The Contractor shall place, pack, and grade standard sand/gravel fill up to the proper level necessary to place concrete floor slabs and containment slab. All fill shall be placed in 6-inch (maximum) deep lifts, properly wetted, and packed before the next layer is added.; 2. 5 EXCAVATION: The Contractor shall excavate to the depth and width necessary to properly place concrete slabs. Excess excavated material shall be stockpiled adjacent to the site as directed by the owner.; 2. 6 BACKFILL: The contractor shall backfill as required; 2. 7 FINISH GRADE: The Contractor shall provide all finish grading using the previously removed topsoil. The topsoil shall be sloped away from the building at a minimum of a 1 to 12 slope. All topsoil shall be graded and disked smooth and all large clumps removed. Reseeding not included in the contract.
