Specifications include, but are not limited to: Carrier Requirements 1. Transportation of students means the driving schedule on in-coming trips for any and all buses/vans between the first student pick up at home, through the last student drop off at school regardless of the number of trips, location of routes, number of stops, or mileage; and the driving schedule on homeward trips for any and all buses between the departure from the school through the time of the last student drop off at home, regardless of the number of trips, location of routes, number of stops, or mileage. 2. Kearsarge Regional School District is scheduled to operate school one hundred eighty (180) days per year except for special education out-of-district students as specified in number 3 below. Kearsarge Regional School District also operates limited summer routes. Kearsarge Regional School District reserves the right to cancel scheduled school days or open school on a delayed basis with minimal notice because of weather or other emergencies. No compensations for days that are cancelled due to inclement weather besides a 2 hour minimum for drivers already enroute. In the event that Kearsarge Regional School District adopts a different school year than the present 180-day schedule, the contract will follow the daily rate per bus established for that year of the contract. In addition, the Kearsarge Regional School District may change from a one-tier to a two-tier busing system during the contract period. The contract may be amended by the mutual consent of the parties hereto, but no amendment shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by the parties. 3. Kearsarge Regional School District special education out-of-district transportation is scheduled to operate two hundred and twenty (220) days per year. 4. In the event of early dismissal of students, Carrier will provide the normal bus/van service for such early dismissal; provided, however, that Kearsarge Regional School District furnishes Carrier with reasonable notification as to any such early dismissal. 5. All buses and drivers must be available on one (1) hour’s notice for early closing of one or more schools due to an emergency and/or weather, and on one (1) day’s notice for early closing of school for other activities.
