Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. IRRIGATION/BACKGROUND DESCRIPTION A. This project is to install underground irrigation to three (3) softball fields. See Section 13.0 Appendix A: Irrigation Map B. Provide alternate bids for one (1) northerly multipurpose field and the remaining two (2) most southerly soccer fields for the two (2) most southerly soccer fields. C. Utilize the 120 feet deep well and the 4 inch mainline that is currently onsite for the use of the underground irrigation system. D. Electrical panel and well pump components are located within proximity of all fields and any conversion of the components is the contractor’s responsibility. 2. EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS FOR A TWO (2) WIRE IRRIGATION SYSTEM A. Provide additional 4” Mainline SDR21 PVC – each zone shall be stepped down using SDR 21 class 200 PVC in accordance with the irrigation standards to provide adequate PSI and gallons per minute for the system to function properly. B. Install three (3) below grade frost proof spigots at each softball field per the owner’s location concealed in a secured at grade box. C. Provide an exterior waterproof lockable control panel designed for future expansion. D. All below grade wiring shall be approved for direct burial. E. Provide at least 12 inches of extra wire in each box for future maintenance. F. Provide a minimum of 194 STAINLESS STEEL rotors with nozzles per the attached irrigation plan to ensure optimum coverage to all irrigated areas. G. All rotors shall be installed on factory assembled swing joints. H. Install appropriate sized below grade boxes to house all solenoids, valves and decoders. All boxes shall be placed on bricks and have pea gravel placed inside to allow drainage. I. Install one (1) below grade quick coupling valve and supply the quick coupling key to perform winterization blowout to all zones. J. Provide a wireless rain/freeze sensor mounted to the control panel pedestal. K. Contractor shall verify well specifications, water pressure and availability prior to installation. L. All supply line trenches shall have metallic locating tape installed +/- six (6) inches above the water supply line. M. All supply line trenches shall be backfilled, tamped, graded and seeded. Seed blend per the owner’s specifications. N. All electrical connections are the responsibility of the chosen contractor. O. Contractor shall supply the owner four (4) rotor adjusting tools. P. Contractor shall provide owner with five (5) each, extra stainless steel rotors, solenoids and valves.
