Specifications include, but are not limited to: Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Services (LMEMS) is the largest 911 service provider in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. LMEMS is currently licensed for 58 ambulances which are generally kept in service for 10 years. It is the intent of these specifications to provide an ambulance suitable for the needs of the community today as well as thru the life of the contract. These specifications are for a contract that covers the purchase of new ambulances, the remounting of existing ambulance bodies, and OEM parts for the ambulance (excluding chassis). The current projection would be to purchase 10 new and 25 refurbished ambulances in the next 5 years. This specification is based upon compliance to minimum standards as outlined in CAAS GVS V2.0 (current CAAS Standard) and may reference specific paragraphs throughout these specifications. It is the intent to purchase a vehicle, new or remounted, that complies with these minimum standards and other Federal referenced standards in effect at time of issuance. Where these specifications do not reference any specific section of the CAAS GVS document, it will not be construed that the paragraph is not required for compliance. However, where specific requirements are spelled out in this specification, they will supersede those referenced in the CAAS GVS Document. The awarded vendor shall deliver a completed ambulance (New or Remounted) that meets CAAS GVS V2.0 Specification (Current CAAS Standard) The successful bidder shall affix a decal stating CAAS compliance for any new ambulance delivered to the inside of the electrical compartment door
