Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor shall provide and engrave the nameplate according to the following specifications (see Exhibit A-1 for front and rear-view samples of the nameplate engraving): 1) The nameplate composition is industry standard 220 bronze.; 2) The nameplate dimensions are as follows: a. Width - 2.125 (2 1/8) inches; b. Height - 0.375 (3/8) inches; c. Thickness - 0.0665 inches; d. Length of fusion thread lug - 0.25 (1/4) inches; e. Thickness of fusion thread lug - .085 inches; f. Diameter of button back nut - 0.475 (7/16) inches; g. Length of each clutch pin - 0.375 (3/8) inches; h. Spacing between clutch pins - 1.625 (1 5/8) inches; B. Contractor shall comply with the following engraving requirements: 1) Relative position and orientation of lettering shall be consistent from nameplate-tonameplate. They shall be highly polished on the front and free from scratches and pits. The engraved name will be centered left-to-right and top-to-bottom on the nameplate.; 2) The cutter tip tool shall be a 20-degree carbide tip turned at 10,000 RPM.; 3) All letters shall be clearly cut, distinct and sharply defined, machined free of all burrs and smooth to the eye.; 4) Each nameplate will be engraved with the recipient’s name in Gothic lettering, 3/16” high. If names are lengthy (14 or more characters and spaces), lettering will be Gothic condensed.; 5) All nameplate lettering will be engraved to an approximate depth of 0.013 inches and an approximate width of 0.035 inches and shall be filled with “Flat Blue Baked Enamel” comparable to: Spectrum Coating, Inc., #30915-RP within the letters.; 6) The nameplates are to be coated on the front with a clear gloss lacquer to a minimum thickness of approximately 1 mil. The lacquer shall not color with age and shall be abrasion resistant. The finish shall be uniform with no surface imperfections.; 7) The face of the nameplate shall be polished free of imperfections.; 8) The above referenced measurements are approximations. The engraving shall be as close as possible to the specifications and all engraving shall be consistent.
