Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1-24 Unit price shall be a per foot price which includes all cost necessary for installation of bored smoothwall conduit including but not limited to labor, travel time, mule tape (with tracer wire if specified), and other material, equipment, restoration, locates of public service utilities at private property, core drilling and plug replacement, barricading of open excavations as necessary, necessary lane closures, and associated vaccing. All bores are to be daylighted unless otherwise directed by LES. If LES requires a hole, then costs should be billed elsewhere (i.e.; splice pit rate). Mule tape shall be provided and installed by Contractor and must follow the specification of #1800 strength. 25 If sandstone is encountered the LES representative shall be notified before the additive is applied. Any use before approval from the LES representative shall be at the risk of Contractor. 28 Materials may include sand, soils, rock, concrete. 29-30 Splice pits are generally considered to be an excavation in size of 4’x4’x8’. 31-34 Permissible connections will be defined by the LES representative. Any connections completed outside of the LES requested design will be considered incidental to the bore. The term ‘connections’ shall include 90’s, 45’s, 22’s, and straight-line connections. 35-38 Butt-fusing will be required due to minimum bore stem requirements as noted in Directional Bores. The intent is to reduce duct splice pits as much as possible. This eliminates duct waste and unnecessary restoration.
