Specifications include, but are not limited to: NMDOT has identified the need to complete a detailed alternatives analysis study of the portion of Interstate 25 (I-25) between milepost 223 and milepost 225 to identify an alignment which will correct the sub-standard S-curve geometry and advance an alternative alignment through the Environmental Documentation and Processing Phase. This portion of I-25 had been previously studied as part of the South I-25 Corridor Study (CN A301100); however, major alignment modifications were not evaluated due to right of way limitations at the time. The District is prioritizing eliminating the S-curve by implementing a major alignment correction due to reoccurring safety incidents along the current S-curve alignment. It will be necessary to investigate and document all potential alternatives with an emphasis on the NEPA process. It is the intent of this RFP to amend the previously completed Phase I-B study (CN A301100) and advance the alternate alignment through the Phase I-C Environmental Documentation and Processing Phase. The Environmental documentation level of effort is anticipated to be an Environmental Assessment (EA).
