Specifications include, but are not limited to: The improvements consist of furnishing all labor and materials for the expansion of DTC’s Mid-County Operations Center by adding four bays to the existing maintenance facility. The current maintenance facility is operating at capacity, and expansion is needed to continue to provide transit patrons with exceptional service in the growing region of southern New Castle County. The expansion has also been designed to support maintenance for DTC’s future fleet of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses. Follow other incidental construction in accordance with the location, notes and details shown on the plans, and as directed by the Engineer.; I. Mid-County Maintenance Facilities: The State owns and maintains private facilities. Prior to work commencing, the State's contractor shall field verify locations of privately owned and operated utility facilities on the job site with a representative of property owner. The State's contractor shall call Miss Uti lity before work begins in accordance with DE Code and as further outlined in General Note 1 below.; 2. Private Utility Relocations and or Adjustments to be performed by the State's contractor: A. Electric Services: • The State's contractor will relocate electric line located on the east side of the new building expansion. The State's contractor will coordinate all connections to the new Maintenance faci lity with Delmarva Power after the necessary service applications have been approved by Delmarva Power if required. Refer to plans for locations. ; B. Sanitary Sewer Service Relocations: • The State's contractor will install a service located on the east side of the new building expansion. Refer to plans for locations.; • The State's contractor will install a second service on the east side of the new building expansion. Refer to plans for locations.; • The State's contractor is responsible for coordinating any and all work on the sanitary sewer facil ities with New Castle County.; • Any relocations/adjustments to any existing underground facilities shall be arranged, if necessary, with the utility owners and performed by the state's contractor during the construction of the project.; C. Water Facilities: The state's contractor to cut and cap water main in two (2) locations under the building expansion. Refer to plans for locations.; D. Gas Facilities: When saw cutting in close proximity to gas facilities, the state contractor shall verify the depth of the gas main via test holes (see item G below) before saw cutting and/or excavation to ensure shallow pipe is not encountered. The contractor shall exercise caution when excavating along the curb lines at these locations. If you smell natural gas, leave the area immediately and then call Delmarva Power Gas at 302-454-0317, 24 hours a day.; E. Under no circumstances shall any valve box, junction box, or manhole be paved over, filled, or knocked out of vertical alignment during construction.; F. Cost of any coordination with the utility companies shall be incidental to the contract.; G. Should any existing uti lity and/or private facilities identified to be in potential conflict w ith proposed improvements shown in the contract documents, they shall be test holed by the State Contractor to verify facility and depths using non-destructive methods as directed by the State's Engineer. Any Test holes performed as required by the State's Engineer is covered, shall be made by the State's contractor per item #204000 - Test Hole, Section 204 of the Standard Specifications.
