Specifications include, but are not limited to: replacement of the existing roof top HVAC units (RTUs), associated mechanical components and controls, and the replacement of existing roof with a new “cool roof” as detailed in the project construction documents; 1. Removal and disposal of existing bituminous roofing, insulation, deteriorated decking, flashing, sheet metal and other miscellaneous debris. The existing roof system is indicated in the General Notes located on the Roof Plans. 2. The contractor shall submit a Phasing Plan for removal of the existing roofing where specified and receive approval for the phasing plan prior to starting any work on the project site. The Phasing Plan shall provide measures for environmental controls to maintain the operations of the occupied facility. The Phasing Plan shall also show coordination efforts with other trades including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural 3. Removal of abandoned penetrations, rooftop equipment, and/or repair of deck openings. 4. Temporary removal and replacement of existing and/or new mechanical exhaust fans, rooftop equipment, conduits, cameras and miscellaneous penetrations as necessary to facilitate the new roof installation. 5. Removal and replacement of existing and/or new mechanical equipment as needed to perform the roof replacement and/or MEP work as specified and shown on the drawings.
