Specifications include, but are not limited to: Consisting of relocating the Port of Alaska Warm Storage Building intact from its current location east of the Port Administration Building at 1871 Anchorage Port Road to a temporary site in the southwest intersection of Terminal Road and Roger Graves Road, then to the new site east of the Port Security Building and Roger Graves Road. The proposed moving route is approximately 1 mile long and the dimensions; The scope of this project includes all work necessary to relocate, intact, an existing 120- ft x 72-ft x 30-ft (L x W x H) tension fabric steel frame structure, also known as the Warm Storage Building (WSB), first to a temporary location, then to the permanent site. The WSB is a Cover-All Building System erected in 2005. The building provides heat and shelter during winter months for sand and diesel-powered maintenance equipment. It is equipped with seven suspended gas heaters (two are currently operational), and eight suspended high intensity discharge (HID) light fixtures. Numerous air ducts and exhaust fans provide air circulation. A radiant heating system and mechanical air unit (MAU) were also installed and shown in the record drawings, however, they are non-functional. See Section XII for record drawing information. ; In preparation for the relocation, the POA (hereinafter Owner) will disconnect all electrical and gas utilities from the existing onsite connections, and will remove all non-functioning items including, heaters, the radiant heating system and the existing MAU.; The Contractor shall be responsible to provide all labor, equipment and materials necessary to securely and safely transport, intact, the WSB and all remaining HVAC and electrical utilities within the structure.; The WSB will initially be transported from the current location east of the Administration Building at 1871 Anchorage Port Road to a paved open space in the southwest corner of the intersection of Terminal Road and Roger Graves Road where it will remain until the permanent site construction is complete. This location is flanked by an Alaska Railroad Corporation rail to the west, and a private railroad to the south. The Contractor is required to stay a minimum of 20 feet away from both railroads.; The Owner has reviewed site conditions and provided a proposed route approximately one mile long and relatively flat, see the exhibits provided in Section XIII for more information. The Owner will ensure the container yards are cleared and utility obstructions such as overhead lines and light poles are temporarily laid down or removed to provide sufficient space along the proposed route. The Contractor shall confirm acceptance of this route or propose another option acceptable to the Owner. The final route will be included in the Work Plan described in Article 5.35.; The Contractor will be responsible for providing materials and labor necessary to navigate over grade breaks, curbs, and rail crossings. The Contractor shall restore all ground disturbed during relocation of the WSB to original condition. Once the WSB has been deposited onto the temporary site, it will be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide any support needed to maintain the structural stability of the WSB and provide the protection necessary to prevent damage.; The permanent site is located approximately 450 feet east across Roger Graves Road. Site design for the permanent location is underway. Construction is anticipated to occur late fall 2022. The Contractor shall relocate the WSB to the permanent site after construction is complete. The orientation is anticipated to be similar to what is shown on the exhibits in Section XIII. The Contractor shall be responsible for anchoring the WSB to the ground using frame anchors as shown in the record drawings, or as approved by the Engineer. Final building location, foundation, and drawings will be provided at a later date.; The Owner will coordinate connection of gas and power to the HVAC and lighting systems within the building. The Contractor will be responsible to replace equipment that may have been damaged during transport.
