Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work involves sourcing, delivery, planting, mulching and one year of maintenance of trees at the specified locations. The contractor shall use the species selected by the Town as noted in the Quote Sheet; substitutes will not be accepted unless approved by the Town in writing due to inappropriate site conditions or lack of available nursery stock. The Contractor is also responsible for notifying the impacted landowner at least 24 hours prior to the tree removal so that vehicles can be moved prior to commencement of work. The Contractor shall provide all tools, labor, and materials necessary to complete the work in conformance with State, Local, and industry standards. The scope of work shall also include: • Adequate safety signing • Dig-safe Clearance before excavation commences • Adequate traffic control during all activities throughout the project. The Contractor shall maintain at least one lane open to vehicular traffic, unless approval to close the road is provided by the Public Works Director. • Unless otherwise specified herein, work shall conform to the latest versions of the Tree Planting Specifications for the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program and the Town of Essex Public Works Specifications (where conflicts exist, defer to the former).
