Specifications include, but are not limited to: Due to a larger number of students enrolled this fall semester and requiring housing, we need a temporary housing solution for approximately 30 students. Our residence halls are full, and we do not want to deny students housing, which could impact their ability to attend. We need to reserve 15 hotel rooms (to accommodate 2 students per room) at a local hotel, for the Fall semester (August 17th – December 16th 2022). As rooms in the campus residence halls become available, we would then provide the hotel a 2 week notice and vacate a full hotel room and move those students to campus housing. The total number of rooms occupied and billed for throughout the semester will vary depending on students potentially dropping out and vacating housing. The hotel will bill LC State directly for the cost, every 2 weeks, and we will recoup approximately half of the cost ($45,000 of the $99,900 cost) from the student housing fees that are paid by students at the beginning of the semester. There are two hotels in the local Lewiston area that may be able to accommodate our needs and are willing to hold a block of rooms for our purposes, and allow us to provide a 2-week notice and vacate the rooms, as our student population fluctuates. We will need to provide the hotel(s) a decision by July 12th to secure the rooms for the start of the Fall semester.
