Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Remove and store all furniture currently in this space. 2. Install dust protection at openings to adjacent spaces and at existing painted wall finishes. 3. Close any registers able to be closed; cover any returns. Take precautions necessary to keep dust and debris from blowing around and/or entering the HVAC system. 4. Open window and use fans to develop negative air pressure so that fine airborne particulates in this space do not emigrate to adjacent spaces. 5. Protect floor finish from plaster dust/debris. 6. Temporarily support lighting and protect from damage from plaster debris. 7. Remove ACT ceiling and grid to the nearest reasonable joint where grid remains undamaged. This will probably be a 10’ x 16’ area of ceiling. 8. Remove full area of plaster, to flanking walls and panel joints. It is preferred that removed plaster be lifted down from the ceiling instead of dropped to the floor. 9. Protect sprinkler piping, lighting, and other installed systems while this plaster removal is underway. 10. Bag or otherwise contain plaster debris so that it doesn’t leave a trail of dust through the facility. Remove and legally dispose of plaster. 11. Clean wood lath so that dust and debris doesn’t continue to fall onto ceiling. 12. Install new ceiling tiles and grid to match existing. Criteria for ceiling/grid installation provided at the end of this document. 13. Reinstall lighting in grid, maintaining or reinstalling support wires (minimum two per fixture). 14. Clean space thoroughly. Touch up wall finishes if any damage has occurred. 15. Remove flooring protection, remove dust protection, re‐open registers and diffusers.
