Specifications include, but are not limited to: Furnish and Deliver sanitized, with new fillers and industry standard covers, Like-New Refurbished Twin XL Mattresses, 80” x 36” x 7” (7”- 8”) complying with the description and/or specifications as applicable to this solicitation for East Thomson residence hall for the Winthrop University Department of Residence Life.; A. REFURBISH SPECIFICATION: Refurbish Winthrop University residence hall mattresses or same industry standard specification mattresses. Mattresses shall be taken apart down to innerspring and base/cotton. State regulated high heat and dry sanitation, remanufactured with new filler and fiber toppers for comfort covered with industry standard FR/PU backed fluid proof navy nylon sewn with a minimum of inverted seams (for fluid and bed bug protection) except at one end for closure, new plastic bag. All per specifications below. Old mattresses will be taken away and recycled.; B. INNERSPRING UNIT: All wire spring units, shall be Bonnel construction and based on the standard 312 Coil unit to have no fewer than 208 coils. The row construction is 8 x 26. Border Wire is to be six (6) gauge and all coils shall be made of thirteen (13) gauge wire. Helical springs shall be not less than 17 U.S. Standard gauge. The construction of this unit is to be high carbon steel wire. There shall be not less than five (5) active turns or convolutions per coil and the coils shall be five inches (5”) in height. Each unit is to have a helical or clipped border on both top and perimeter.; C. INSULATION/UPHOLSTERY: A one inch (1”) eight pound (8 lb.) flame-retardant cotton felt to be placed on top of a 3/8” “FR” insulator pad on each side of the spring unit (add ¾” 1.5 lb. density polyurethane to both sleep surfaces of the 90” mattresses). To pass the 16-CFR-Part 1633 Federal Standard. All layers of upholstery overlap all borders and are fastened to the springs by hog-ringed construction method.; D. MATTRESS FLAMMABILITY: Mattresses to pass the 16-CFR-Part 1633 Federal Standard.; E. COVER: To be a 210-DENIER NAVY BLUE NYLON FABRIC. The nylon cover is fluid proof, washable, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, hypo-allergenic and low shear. The outer cover to pass MVSS-302, CAL-117 Technical Bulletin and NFPA-701. All inverted seams (except at one short end for closure). Kevlar “FR” thread is to be used in seaming the mattresses.
