Specifications include, but are not limited to: A model for 21st century student life experiences and a symbol supporting health and wellness at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Intended as an iconic destination for the campus and community, it will be inviting, inclusive and nurture student success through physical, mental, emotional and cognitive support programs and services. The proposed 2-wing building is designed with programs to bring students together wellness, fitness, and multipurpose spaces. Social spaces may be found sprinkled on each floor, visible and accessible along active circulation spaces that highlight activities, resources, and Campus culture. Currently sized at approximately 84,000sf, the HRWC Program includes two (2) standard sized courts, one (1) MAC (Multi-Activity Court), elevated jogging track, fitness center, multipurpose rooms and a Health and Wellness Center which includes areas for consultation, relaxation, education and training. Outdoor programmed spaces are distributed throughout the site to offer areas for social interaction, respite and group activities.
